We have set the following dates for the 2016 Area Gatherings.
January
We will be looking at some of the practical issues that our congregations have to deal with, under the title:
“Responsible Elders”
Some of the topics we will be looking at are:
- Property maintenance – especially the new legislation
- Health & Safety
- Having/creating a local church constitution
- Financial Matters (including M&M)
- Risk management
These will be useful meetings for Elders and others involved in property maintenance and financial management.

South East – Tuesday 19th – 6.30 for 7pm – Buckland URC, Portsmouth
Getting to Buckland – Bus numbers 3, 7, and 23 stop by the Church. They leave from The Hard and the city centre near the railway station.
By car from the M27 take the M275, leave by junction labelled Stamshaw, Ferry, and North End. Take middle lane, labelled North End,continue along Kingston Crescent to the traffic lights by a T junction. Turn right into Kingston Road. Buckland URC is on the left at the junction with Queens Road. The church has a very small car park in Queens Road, or on street parking in the surrounding streets.

Woking URC is on the corner of White Rose Lane and Heathside Road (at a crossroads). It is near the Community Hospital in Heathside Road and that is signposted quite well through the town. If coming by train the Church is five minutes walk from the station (leaving by the platform 5 entrance and walking straight ahead past the Travelodge). There is limited parking at the Church, however double parking is a possibility so long as you do not need to leave early. The multi-storey car park is next door and the charges are £1.30 per hour up until 7 pm and then £1.30 for the whole night (totalling £2.60). There are no restrictions on street parking in the evenings and taking the first left on White Rose Lane, into Heathside Park Road, there is usually plenty of room.

St Andrew’s is located close by Reading’s Royal Berks Hospital on the corner of London Road with Craven Road.
