West Moors Christmas Tree Festival raises £660 for charity
30 beautifully decorated and illuminated trees lit up St Martin’s United Reformed Church in the centre of West Moors for the village’s annual Christmas Tree Festival from December 5th – 8th. This coincided with the ‘Carols at the Petwyn’ outdoor procession and carol service at the village green.
In addition to the trees, visitors were entertained with carols by the Year 4 pupils from St Mary’s First School and the St Martin’s Community Gospel Choir.
The festival was very well attended, including by residents from some of the local care homes. Pupils from Oakhurst First School came in to hear the Reverend Margaret Tilley tell the story of the first Christmas.
Charities benefitting from the event are locally, ‘The West Moors Dementia Action Project’ and nationally, ‘Macmillan Nurses’.
