Good News Story – and the winners are…

8th November 2021 / Deborah Walker / Good News Story, News

And the winners are…

Collectively Camberley, the Business Improvement District (BID) for Camberley Town Centre, was established in 2011. In 2021 95% of those businesses in the area voted to extend the BID for another 5 years. The BID, organises many of the town centre events, including the car show, Farmers Markets, Christmas Lights and the summer flower displays, their website, tells you even more about them. www.lovecamberley.co.uk. In September Mike was appointed as one of the Company Directors to help guide the next 5 years.

For many years they have also organised the Camberley Town Centre Business Awards, in 2019 High Cross Church was nominated for an won the Contribution to the Community Award. Due to Covid, the 2020 awards were cancelled, but bring on 2021 and we had two nominations this year! Mike was nominated for The Collectively Camberley Award (for a person who brings Camberley to life, someone who promotes Camberley in its best light), and Sam Salt was nominated for the Employee of the Year Award (for hardworking and enthusiastic employees who go above and beyond).

Mike, Sue and Sam attended a lovely evening at Camberley Heath Golf Club, and to their shock and embarrassment both Mike and Sam won!! Congratulations to them both on winning this wonderful accolade. The trophies are in the café display cabinet.
