We had a ‘heavenly’ second annual Angel Festival!
With amazing portrayals of angels created by churches, schools and community groups, delicious refreshments and entertainment. http://salisburyurc.co.uk/angel-festival/
Salisbury URC held its second ‘annual’ Angel Festival in October. Angels of all shapes, sizes and interpretations filled the sanctuary to the rafters (literally!) More than 20 schools, churches, community organizations and groups created angels displayed for the week. Money raised (about £2200) was shared with Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Entertainment was provided by local young pianists, a flugelhorn player, the Methodist Church bell choir, the Church of England choir, the Sarum Singers and a Ukulele Band.
The children’s morning involved families in angel crafts, games and activities. Glitter and glue in abundance! The morning was enhanced by the arrival of Wilbur the WAA mascot. http://salisburyurc.co.uk/angel-festival-today-saturday/
A rope Jacob’s Ladder was erected to which paper angels were clipped holding the prayers written by visitors to the festival — prayers for peace, loved ones, wisdom and more. http://salisburyurc.co.uk/prayers-on-jacobs-ladder/
Visitors and members were given the opportunity to have their photo taken whilst standing in front of a pair of Angel wings and a halo. We had several takers. http://salisburyurc.co.uk/salisbury-angels/ http://salisburyurc.co.uk/angels-in-residence-ever-hopeful/
Graham Harmer, a Chelsea Flower Show gold medallist, offered a flowering arranging demonstration and also a workshop with angels as the theme. Everyone attending the workshop created a beautiful angel flower display to take home. http://salisburyurc.co.uk/flower-arranging-workshop/
